For a city, Daly City has natural beauty, with several state parks and hiking trails. Thornton Beach State Park is well-loved by the locals for its white sand and rolling dunes. The park has walking trails, such as the Bay Area Ridge Trail and the Coastal Trail. Another well-known hiking spot is in San Bruno Mountain State Park, which stretches to the Santa Cruz mountain range.
Mussel Rock Park also has hiking trails that connect to paragliding points and is absolutely free to enjoy with great ocean vistas and the opportunity to see some seals. For breathtaking views over the ocean, there is Palisades Park which draws in the locals and tourists. Other than state parks, hiking trails, and beaches, there’s horseback riding that can be done in Daly City, in Mar Vista Stables, where they also offer lessons in horseback riding around the coast of Northern California.
